Primos Roglic (JumboBee) wins Stage 9 Giro Time Trial

Former ski-jumper who claimed not to have ridden a time-trial over 10km before.

The day started off dry and for the early riders near perfect conditions until the heavens opened and changed the course into a very perilous and risky course. Primos, an early starter was 10 seconds faster than Matthaia Brandle of IAM Cycling.

As the big names took to the started, Ilnir Zakarin blew his GC chances crashing twice on the wet roads. Rigoberto Uran was another who had a bad day in the office, rolling down from 6th GC place with a deficit of over 3 minutes. Tom Dumoulin joined them too, with a very conservative ride due to the conditions.

Fabian Cancellara called it a day after the Time Trial, suffering with stomach flu, he's had a bad Giro and decided enough was enough.
