Team Sky leader will be at the public Sportive on Sunday 25 SeptemberLondon, UK, Sept 8th - Chris Froome, three-time winner of Le Tour de France, has been speaking about L’Etape London by Le Tour de France on Sunday 25 September. Chris is pro mentor for the event, and riders who wish to join him still have a limited opportunity to enter England’s only official Le Tour de France sportive and ‘have their day in yellow’. As well as great riding cyclists will enjoy a number of Le Tour de France experiences similar to the professionals.

Speaking about L’Etape London by Le Tour de France Chris Froome said: "The British support has been immense throughout the last months and over the last three years. When I'm in the depths of pain on the roads, thinking of the support back home has given me the extra edge when I've needed it. So I'm buzzing to share that I'm coming to London on September 25th, to meet and cheer on the riders in England's own Le Tour de France sportive; L'Etape London by Le Tour de France.”

Previewing his role on the day Chris said: “This is my chance to help amateur riders push through to their own finish line. I'll be out riding on the route, handing out medals as people cross the line and getting involved in as much as I can. All to bring the true Tour de France spirit back to London, yet again. It's not often I get to ride alongside members of the public and with the event staged to celebrate the 2014 Grand Depart, it will make for an extra special day.”

Finally, Chris advised riders to book their spot quickly if they wanted to join him: “There are still entries available but I know this is a popular ride and sold out last year, so if you want to join me; register on the L'Etape London by Le Tour de France's website. Hope to see you there."

On the day at L’Etape London by Le Tour de France, Chris Froome will be meeting riders before they start, giving advice at one of the feed stations and on route, and handing out medals to those who complete the ride. They may even be able to grab a photo with Chris on the podium, which is an exact replica of the one used during Le Tour de France, something he is used to standing atop.

Those wishing to ride L’Etape London by Le Tour de France can choose from 42, 92 and 117 mile routes, which follow many of the same roads from stage three of the 2014 tour – when it began in the UK. Those of a competitive nature can set a time around the final closed road kilometre, with the fastest appropriately winning the official Le Tour de France green sprinters jersey.

With demand high, riders are advised to enter fast!
