Matteo Trentin from Quick-Step Floors had a lucky escape while training in California at Lake tahoe at the weekend, crashing into a bear while on a descent
Matteo Trentin had a lucky escape while training in California at the weekend, after crashing into a bear while on a descent.
The Quick-Step Floors rider had stayed on in the U.S.Tour of California to train at altitude when the incident took place.
Trentin was descending when a bear walked out across the road, he tried to brake to avoid the bear, his the deck. Trentin's helmet broke up (as it should) and saved him from any further injuries.
Trentin is one of a number of riders to stay in the area and train at altitude for the next set of races, the Tour de Suisse and the Tour de France.
