Fausto Masnada takes the stage win as Valerio Conti pulls on the Magila Rosa after victory from the day's breakaway
It was an very eventful stage from Cassino to San Giovani Rotondo.
The days breakaway of 13 riders including; José Rojas, Andrey Amador (Movistar), Nans Peters (AG2R La Mondiale), Pieter Serry (Deceuninck-QuickStep), Ruben Plaza (Israel Cycling Academy), Nicola Bagioli (Nippo-Fantini-Faizanè), Valerio Conti (UAE Team Emirates), Fausto Masnada (Androni-Sidermec), Giovanni Carboni (Bardiani-CSF), Valentin Madouas (Groupama-FDJ), Sam Oomen (Team Sunweb), Amaro Antunes (CCC Team) went way early on.

Up front, Fausto Masnada (Androni-Sidermec), Giovanni Carboni (Bardiani-CSF) went on the attack, behind Giovanni Carboni, José Roja and Ruben Plaza chased but to no avail.
Giovanni Carboni lead out the sprint up hill but it was Fausto Masnada who had the legs and took the stage win for Italian outfit Androni-Sidermec.
No commiserations from Giovanni Carboni(Bardiani-CSF) who pulled on the Maglia Rosa to the delight of the Tifosi and Italy.
Roglic and the Peloton crossed the line over 7 minutes down, completely changing the GC after the stage.
Tomorrow's stage 7 starts on the Adriatic coast, the route travels across the Abruzzi Apennines through Ripa Teatina and Chieti, all the way to the finish in L'Aquila. The finish has a short steep climb leading to the uphill finish. A stage suited to the Rouleurs and stronger uphill sprinters.
