Cannondale-Drapac Team to ride Discs at Ruta Del Sol

Cannondale-Drapac will take to the start of the 63rd Ruta Ciclista del Sol, also known as the Vuelta a Andalucia, on Wednesday February 15.

Rigoberto Uran will lead the squad. The five-day stage race starts off with two challenging mountain stages, followed by a short individual time trial and two stages with potentially bunch sprint finishes.

The Ruta del Sol will mark Cannondale-Drapac’s first use of disc brakes at a race.

Wiggins Brakes his Leg on ´The Jump´

Another celebrity bites the dust. Wiggins confirmed he had suffered a ‘small leg fracture’ that means he will need three-six weeks rest and that no surgery or cast was needed.

Wiggins joins a long list of contestants to have suffered painful injuries while participating in the Channel 4 show.

Former Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle required neck surgery after a crash last February, while former Holby City star Tina Hobley is still recovering from leg and arm injuries sustained on last year’s series.

Team Sunweb to Focus on Time Trial at the Ruta Del Sol

The first race of the year and it will be a good reality check to see where the Pro Pelotons legs are going into the new season.

Sunweb have had some good training camps and TT specific tests through the winter, which gives them confidence going into the race.

In Spain they will have a team with good climbing skills and will aim to get some good stage results. The strategy will be an offensive one, with a special focus on the TT stage.

2018 Tour de France Grand Depart to start in the Vendee region

The 2018 Tour de France will start from Vendée on Sunday, June 30th.

Since 1903, the cities and towns of the Pays de la Loire region have welcomed the Grand Départ nine times, five of which have set out from the Vendée.

In 2018, the riders will once again gather in this cycling-crazy part of the country to tackle the 105th edition of the Tour de France.
