The event showcased fierce competition across age groups on a fully closed, scenic circuit through Kings Park, along the Swan River waterfront and into the heart of the CBD. Riders battled technical turns, coastal winds and strategic sprints to claim the coveted green-and-gold national champion’s jerseys.

The championship delivered standout performances across men’s and women’s divisions, with 17 national titles awarded. The winners demonstrated endurance, tactical skill and strong finishes across the 13.6 km circuit repeated to form the full 81 km race. The event also offered an exciting atmosphere for spectators, who were treated to close racing and a chance to stay on and watch Australia’s top cyclists contest the Kings Park crown following the Gran Fondo finishes.

Race director Emily Hartley said, “Today was a celebration of grassroots cycling in Australia. Our competitors pushed hard on a beautiful course that tested bike handling and stamina, and the sportsmanship shown across age groups was outstanding. We’re proud to host a championship that not only crowns national champions but also brings the community together around cycling.”

Event organisers praised the safety and logistics delivered by local authorities and volunteers who ensured fully closed roads and efficient rider support throughout the day. Medical teams and neutral support vehicles were on hand, and water and feed stations were positioned to help riders manage efforts through the warmer parts of the afternoon. The city course, with its mix of technical park sections and fast waterfront stretches, provided riders with a true test of pace and endurance while giving spectators prime viewing opportunities.

The Australian Gran Fondo National Championship continues to grow as a premier event on the amateur calendar, providing an inclusive platform for competitive riders across age groups to earn national recognition. Full official results and category times will be published on the event website after final verification. Riders, families and cycling fans are invited to follow upcoming Gran Fondo events and programs aimed at growing community participation in cycling across the country.
