Held at the scenic NWR Gross Barmen Resort, the event drew top cyclists from across the region to compete in one of Namibia’s most demanding gravel races.
Namibian National Road Champion Alex Miller, representing Swatt Club, took first place in the men’s elite category, finishing with an impressive time of 4:39:15. He was closely pursued by Marc Pritzan, who finished in 4:40:26, and Jacob Charles Van Dyk, who crossed the line at 4:43:01.
In the women’s race, Hayley Preen secured a commanding victory with a time of 5:36:32, ahead of Anri Greeff (5:39:56) and Sonica Klopper (5:52:24). Both Preen and Miller also recently claimed the 2025 African Gravel Championships, cementing their status as top contenders in the sport.
In addition to the main event, an exciting 84km race saw a nail-biting finish between junior riders Marco Thiel and Roger Suren. Thiel edged out Suren in a photo finish after 2:41:43 of racing, while fellow junior Delsia Janse Van Vuuren won the women’s category in 2:50:34. The Khomas 100 also served as a qualifying event for the 2025 UCI Gravel World Championships in the Netherlands, with the top 25% of competitors in each UCI age and gender category earning spots at the prestigious global competition.
“This year’s Khomas 100 was a true test of endurance and skill,” said Alex Miller, “The course’s mix of fast sections and steep climbs pushed us to our limits, and I’m proud to come out on top alongside Hayley, who continues to inspire with her incredible performance. We look forward to representing Namibia on the world stage at the UCI Gravel World Championships.”
The Khomas 100 continues to grow as a premier gravel race in Africa, attracting elite and emerging cyclists eager to challenge themselves on its rugged, scenic terrain.
