The Grand Huit Vosgien for its second edition under the control of the French Federation of cyclo Tourism is the only cyclo Haute Saônoise which will again this year give pride of place to the Mille Etangs site.

To discover our beautiful region, The Hauts de Haute Saône it is our favourite.

Like last year, it is Luxeuil les Bains, a spa town that welcomes the G8V for its departure and arrival. Luxeuil and its region has many assets. Its source, its thermal baths is also a tourist and historical city, its embroidery but also its delicious ham.

To start the hike, head due north, leaving Luxeuil les Bains with a gradual warm-up. Soon Fougerolle famous for its cherry trees and Morello cherries. You reach Plombières les Bains, another spa town. Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie made him famous. After a first warm-up and the passage of the first pass, La Feuillée, it's Val D'Ajol. Then the climb to the first supply point by the coast of Hamanxard.

For those who wish, this will be the ideal place to taste charcuterie, cheese and country breads with a breathtaking view of the Vosges peaks. For the short route with 1000 m of elevation gain, it will be time to head back to Luxeuil via Saint Bresson.

For the medium and long distance, direction the Col du Mont de Fourche by Coravillers, arrives Servance. The splits the medium and Grand course

On the right the middle, on the left the Grand and its four peaks: Col des Croix, Ballon de Servance highest point, Col de la Chevestraye, Col de Chevrère. It's time to find Servance and the middle course. Head to Faucogney, another town full of history. Louis XIV left his mark there. The second supply will be welcome.

Then comes the crossing of the Mille Etangs plateau with a return to Coravillers and it is the climb to the Mountain. On the way back, the third aid station. After nearly 4000m of elevation gain for the Grand route, 2500m for the medium return via Saint Bresson, Saint Valbert, you will reach Luxeuil.
