Mikel Landa to target Giro d’Italia again
The main objective of the Sky climber will again be the Giro d’Italia where he will be the captain of the British team
Landa has outlined his schedule in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS. He revealed that he will make his debut at the Vuelta a Andalucía or the Vuelta a la Comunitat Valenciana and then participate in Tirreno – Adriatico.
Mikel Landa was forced to abandon the 2016 Giro d'Italia after falling ill on a rest day and struggling early on in the mountainous stage 10. Landa found himself some six minutes in arrears going over the summit of the Passo della Collina inside the first 40 kilometres of the 219-kilometre stage from Campi Bisenzio to Sestola in the Apennines.
He bounced back at the Tour de France where he supported Chris Froome.
His last event before the Giro will be the Giro del Trentino where he will try to repeat the success he achieved 12 months ago.
Landa will not participate in the Tour of the Basque Country afterwards.
