Gavia and Mortirolo Gran Fondo Internationale

June 24 2018
Aprica, Lombardy, Italy

The Champion of Champions (La Campionissimo) ticks all the boxes for clients who are looking for a weekend Gran Fondo that tackles some of the most iconic climbs in Europe.

La Campionissimo is superbly run with riders having the choice of 3 spectacular routes (all on closed roads) that take in some of the best scenery that Italy has to offer. Mortirolo, Passo Gavia and San Cristiana are three of the highlights of the course for those choosing to tackle the longer route.

La Campionissimo takes over the stylish Alpine town of Aprica for the whole weekend, starting with the build-up on Saturday, which includes exhibitions, shows and pasta parties. It is great fun and a good opportunity to meet fellow cyclists from all over the world who come to the race to experience the thrill of riding in Italy.
Aprica hosted the finish of a Giro d’Italia stage in 2015 and so is well accustomed to hosting large-scale cycling events. It is a vibrant town with plenty or bars and restaurants for those looking for some nightlife.
