2017 Gravel Rush

Gravel Rush

March 05 2017
Clitheroe, North West, UK

Gravel Rush is an adventure ride that takes in a mix of paved roads, gravel roads and trails around the Ribble Valley and Bowland fells. Although the route is designed with Gravel bikes in mind, Cyclocross and Mountain bikes are also suitable for this event.

The moderte route takes in forestry fire roads on Longridge Fell and Gisburn Forest, with a few technically easier (blue graded) single track sections. If you’re looking for a bigger challenge, the hard route also takes you deeper into the Bowland fells via the Salter Fell gravel road. Full details of the routes, including GPX files and STRAVA routes will be included in you rider pack upon entry.

All profits from the event will be donated to North West Air Ambulance Charity. North West Air Ambulance Charity are proud to be the nominated charity for the ‘Gravel Rush’. NWAA is registered with Justgiving.com, an online sponsorship website, it’s an easy, secure way to support your local air ambulance. Visit www.justgiving.com/nwaa to set up your own personalised page and help us to continue to make a life-changing difference to those who need us in the North West.

There are 2 route options:

Moderate route - 40 miles with 3,600 ft of climbing, taking in two off road sections.

Challenging route - 56 miles with 5,600 ft of climbing, taking in three off road sections.

The routes for this even have been designed with a Gravel bike in mind. The route is also suitable for mountain bikes and Cyclocross bikes.
