Siskiyou Scenic Bicycle Tour

Siskiyou Scenic Bicycle Tour

May 04 2019
Yreka, California, USA

The Siskiyou Century has been revived as the Siskiyou Scenic Bicycle Tour and is taking place in the Spring rather than the Fall to avoid wildfire smoke. Siskiyou County is also much more beautiful in May than in September. We changed the name, as we may not have a 100 mile ride each year, as we plan to change the routes each year to highlight different parts of our amazingly beautiful County. We will have 5 different ride lengths this year. All rides start and finish at Upper Greenhorn park in Yreka, California. All have multiple rest stops and sag wagon support. All have views of stunning Mt. Shasta, >14,000 ft, rising from the Valley floor.

The 81 mile ride goes out to Shasta Valley then along the Klamath River, and around Irongate and Copco Lakes, with amazing scenery and wildlife. There is 4,690 ft. of elevation, with 9.2 miles of gravel along various parts- mostly packed gravel- the rest is pavement. All other rides are all pavement. Rollling hills mostly with 1 fairly steep section at Irongate dam.

The 69 mile ride goes through Shasta Valley then up to Copco Lake, and back through Shasta Valley- gorgeous scenery! Rolling hills. 4417 ft. of elevation gain

The 38 mile ride goes all through Shasta Valley along cattle ranches and farms, and has great rest stops, at historic Little Shasta Church, and at the Montague Railroad Museum. 1295 ft. of elevation gain. Rolling hills with flat portions.

The 21 mile ride goes out to Shasta Valley, Montague and back, and is a great beginners long distance ride. 947 ft. of elevation gain. Rolling hills and flat portions

The 8 mile ride tours the town of Yreka, and is for everyone in the family. Only 459 ft. of elevation gain. It has 1 section with all the levation gain, the rest is either flat, or downhill.
