Over three thousand cyclists will be taking part over the weekend, with more than ten thousand people in attendance. These are just a few data to understand the scope of the Gran Fondo Squali di Cattolica and Gabicce Mare, an event that unites two regions (Romagna & Marche) under the common denominator of cycling and, above all, offers a celebration truly open to all those who love two wheels. This festival celebrates its eleventh year and will take place from May 15th to 17th. Three days of events, experiences, guests, good food. And cycling, of course.

Five routes are available. Two for the Squali Gravel on Saturday morning, 85 and 45 kilometers. The Verdesca Tour, the shortest, features a 700-meter elevation gain, to be tackled alongside expert guides. The second, the Toro Tour, tackles a 1,650-meter climb, and participants will have a GPX track to follow, provided by the organizers before the event.

There will be three routes available for the Gran Fondo Squali on Sunday. A dual competitive route, 128 and 85 kilometers, with elevation gains of 2,020 and 1,393 meters, respectively. The first is suitable for those who want to challenge themselves, with the long climb of Monte Altavelio-Osteriaccia, which offers a breathtaking view at the summit. The second is the perfect mix for the fast riders of the group. But for those who want to enjoy the area without worrying about the clock, there's the Squali46, a third route of just 46 kilometers. It's a cycle-tourist route named after the "Doctor," Valentino Rossi, the number 46 in world motorcycling, who inspired its mileage. It passes through Tavullia, where cyclists will find one of the biggest and best-stocked refreshment points of the entire day. The final one is located at the finish line, on the “natural balcony overlooking the Adriatic” with a stunning view: Gabicce Monte.
