Over 600 cyclists enjoy a fabulous weekend at 4th edition of Hincapie Lehigh Valley
Sun, rain, wind—it had it all, and everyone rolled through like champs! The views were massive, the vibes were electric, and that Pennsylvania scenery? Unreal. Every climb, every mile, totally worth it!
The event attracted cyclists of all abilities with a perfect mix of challenging courses, breath-taking views, and a welcoming community of riders.
To commence the weekend festivities, on Friday night, all Gran Fondo Hincapie participants got FREE entry to the American Classic, which was the kickoff event for track season at Valley Preferred Cycling Center velodrome.
Hincapie participants were invited for a night under the lights filled with high adrenalin racing. A Night with the Stars VIP dinner took place on the upper deck at the Velodrome, with gourmet food, wine and the chance to spend the evening with George and other VIP guests. The evening excitement culminated in a fireworks finale.
On Saturday, alongside the Family Fun Festival, which will feature gourmet food by world-renowned Chef Biju Thomas, drinks, music, kid-friendly activities, awards, prizes, and an expo!
Hincapie events are renown across North America and Internationally for offering a top-tier, professional experience for all participants. With perks like a free event jersey, timing chips, SAG support, fully stocked rest stops, participant medals, photos, course safety, and appearances by cycling celebrities.

On the 81 mile Gran Fondo with 5800 ft of climbing, Ryan Sheppard from Charlton NY was fastest overall ahead of Tyler Waldron from Hagerstown MD, in second place, and Michael Goertemoeller from Cincinnati OH in third place.
In the women's Gran Fondo category, Sarah Watkins from Evansville IN was fastest ahead of Lisa Sleeper from Mount Laurel NJ, in second place, and Sara Flecher Cleveland TN in third place.
On the 53 mile Medio Fondo with 3600 ft of climbing, Ethan Jedlicka was fastest for the men and Shannon Kaplan from Philadelphia PA fastest in the women's category.
In the 14 mile Piccolo Fondo with 830 ft of climbing, Ed Devoid from Cincinnati OH was fastest for the men and Deb Wechter fastest in the women's category.
George Hincapie said, after crossing the finish line in the velodrome, "This is my favorite kind of ride - gritty, beautiful and unpredictable! Thanks everyone for showing up, showing heart, and making this weekend one we’ll never forget!"

The Lehigh Valley event is just one of Gran Fondo Hincapie’s four world-class events in 2025; the next will take place on October 18th in Greenville, SC where the Hincapie Gran Fondo events started way back in 2012.
