Distances: 900 miles
Difficulty: Extreme terrain with frequent steep hills and long sustained climb

The Big Sky Spectaculaire starts and finishes in Bozeman, located in southwest Montana. It is a single stage, self-supported competitive adventure bicycle ride around Southwest and Central Montana. The 2024 edition is 900+/- miles in length on mixed surfaces with approximately 450 miles being mostly gravel as well as short stretches of 2-track and single-track. Parts of the route are the Adventure Cycling Association (ACA) TransAm and Lewis and Clark Bike Routes, the Tour Divide and the newly developed Bitterroot Connector route by Bikepacking Roots. The route crosses the Continental Divide twice, at Mill Creek Divide (elev. 6749) and Rogers Pass (elev. 5610). Between these passes and throughout the route are numerous scenic valleys and other passes in SW MT. The route also ventures into Montana’s agricultural (wheat and barley) heartland, the Golden Triangle.
