Garrett County Gran Fondo Results 2014
Over 600 riders took on the Gran Fondo in Maryland last weekend
Well know cyclist Jeremiah Bishop quoted as saying "125 miles; 16,000ft; 7hrs 50mins; fog; rain... Garrett County #GranFondo one of the toughest road rides ever done! Amazing feeling"
The Garrett County Gran Fondo left Alpine Loop Gran Fondo founder Jeremiah Bishop delirious from the effort! In recognition of the super-tough guys and gals who braved the miles (and the rain!) to cross that finish line, the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo are offering a $10 discount to any GCGF finishers who think they've got another 'Fondo in their legs. The ALGF is Sunday, September 28. Register using the Coupon Code "GCGF2014" by July 4 to get this deal.
Congrats to our 2014 King of Mountain, Kelly Williamson, and Queen of Mountain, Elizabeth Whitely.
Climbing was extraordinary in 2014; new climb records were set on all climbs except for climb #1: White Rock.
For anyone interested, the last finisher of the 125-mile route that boasts 16,500 feet (you read that right, sixteen thousand five hundred) vertical feet of climbing, took over 13 hours to complete, click here for the full scoop.
