Styrkeprøven, also called Den Store Styrkeprøven (The Great Trial of Strength), is a 540 km (340 mi) long bicycle cyclosportive which starts in Trondheim and finishes in Oslo, Norway. It was first held in 1967, initiaded by Erik Gjems-Onstad and the 53rd edition takes place June 21-23rd this year.

There are sveral distances to suit cyclist of all abilities, including the full 540 km cyclosportive, there is the 279 km, 192 km and 192 km Women's only, 136 km and 62 km.

About the Gran Fondo World Tour ®

Gran Fondo World Tour ® is the first Gran Fondo / Cyclosportive world series for passionate amateur cyclists, for the non-professional cyclist.

The series includes quality events on different continents; cycling over the Galibier and Madeleine, Top climbs in “Dolomites”, riding Central Asia Step, South African Natal Zulu Region hills, California coast, Korean mountains, Spanish Sun and Weather or Norwegian lanscapes.

All unique events which award points to be part of the final world ranking. Open Ranking, All levels for all cyclists.

For 2019 the series added the following prizes to improve the range and quality of the world tour as:

  $36,000 USD dolars in proze money for top 3 ranking winners, man and women (road version)
  $10,000 USD for the top man and woman, representing best prize in woman cycling events.  $5,000 and 2,000 USD for 2nd and 3rd in the final ranking top 3.
  New destinations in, Asia, South-America and Africa
