White Rose Classic

White Rose Classic

June 24 2018
Ilkley, Yorkshire, UK

Widely considered the premier Yorkshire road cycling sportive, the White Rose Classic offers three challenging routes which will take you into the heart of the stunning Yorkshire Dales. You will take in some of the iconic climbs which have made the Yorkshire Dales a cycling mecca for professional (2014 Tour de France, 2018 Tour de Yorkshire, 2019 World Championships) and amatuers alike. All routes start and end in Ilkley and none are to be taken lightly!

The Grassington 50 Short Route (50miles/80km and 4165ft/1270m climbing) takes in the Norwood Edge climb en-route to Grassington, returning along the picturesque Wharfedale valley, and the challenging Langbar climb a few short miles from the finish.

The Settle 84 Medium Route (84miles/136km and 6835ft/2085m) continues on from the Grassington feed station.  The Route heads up quiet Littondale to Halton Gill before turning west toward Settle. From there, riders slog up the notorious Albert Hill climb and out of the Ribble Valley, returning via Wharfedale.

The epic, Hawes 114 Long Route (114miles/183km and 9340ft/2850m!) is right up there with the hardest Dales routes. It adds the infamous Fleet Moss on the way to Hawes and the misleadingly quaint-sounding Coal Road from Garsdale Head towards Dent. It is a route which your head and legs will remember for years to come.

Optional group rides leaving from the Start area at even intervals let you ride with friends, old and newly-made, in a supportive environment, helping you achieve what you only dreamed of before.
