With summer in full swing and Le Tour starting in just over a week, it’s time to get out there a cycle your socks off. Here’s our low down on the next 5 cycling challenges that will earn you points towards 2021 ranking. Join over 48,000 cyclists from 17 countries over 4 continents race and collect points for the Gran Fondo World Tour Series Championship this November
July 9-11 - Trilogie de Maurienne, France
The Maurienne Trilogy is one of the oldest, toughest and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful events in the French cyclosportive calendar. The climbs made famous in the Tour de France, the Lacets of Montvernier, Col du Chaussy, Madeleine, Col de la Croix de Fer, Glandon, Mollard and the Col du Galibier.
7 “Hors Categorie” climbs with 295 km, 3 stages for the most demanding challenge on the 2021 Gran Fondo World Tour ® Series, also included within the French Cyclo Tour Rotor Challenge series, participants can obtain Gran Fondo World Tour ® points for their best times on two stages and 1,100 Gran Fondo World Tour ® points for the fastest man and woman.
July 18 - Multisegur Volta als Ports d’Andorra
The Multisegur Volta als Ports d'Andorra is the one of the most traditional and respected cycling tours in Andorra. This year it has changed its format to a US style Gran Fondo timed section format.
All participants will leave together from La Massana, but only the climbs will count as timed sections. All routes will reach the finish line in Central Park in the parish of Andorra La Vella.
There are 5 routes, each more demanding, with additional timed sections!
The 5 routes and timed climbing sections are:
Route 1 - * Serrat to the Coma d’Arcalis – 52km, 1,080m climbing
Route 2 - ** Poble d’Ordino to the Coll d’Ordino – 69.1km 1,760m climbing
Route 3 - *** Encamp to the Collada de Beixalis – 87.3 km 2,320m climbing
Route 4 - **** Sant Julià to the Coll de la Peguera – 127km 3,330m climbing
Route 5 - ***** Sant Julià to the Coll de la Gallina – 153km 4,400m climbing
In the Padoc area, you can enjoy a meal at the Party Pasta. Companions will be able to buy the ticket there for lunch. You will find the Bike Park, to leave your bike, while you rest or have lunch. There will be a free bus service from Pàdoc d’Andorra la vella to La Massana, Prat del Colat. At the Padoc, gifts will be given to participants of all routes. You can pick up your souvenir photo of your ride for free, photo taken on the climb of the Coma d’Arcalis. You can buy other photos taken on other climbs.

July 24-25 - Cycl Aigoual, France
The 22nd edition of the Cyclaigoual Region Occitanie, in its 22nd year, offers two routes, 107 km and 138 km departing from Camprieu as well as a new gravel fondo (70 km) for the first time. The mountainous routes take riders through the beautiful Cevennes sceneries in Gard and Lozere before passing at the summit of Mont Aigoual (the arrival of the Stage 6 of last 2020 Tour de France), to end in Camprieu.
The following day on July 25 will be the 33rd edition of the Vice Dean of French mountain bike events as well as VAE and hiking trails.
The Cycl’Aigoual Région Occitanie Challenge (Road + MTB) is a combination of Saturday's Road events and Sunday's MTB events.
July 24-25 - Gran Fondo Kazakhstan
The Gran Fondo Kazakhstan Tour of Zhetysu takes place in the most picturesque places of the Almaty region. Hills, steep ascents and smooth descents - this is a unique 110km road ride that won’t let participants get bored!
Gran Fondo is the world’s most famous and popular road cycling race, combining both professional athletes and cycling enthusiasts in the same ride. Alexander Vinokurov launched the first Gran Fondo in Central Asia with the first edition of Gran Fondo Kazakhstan-Tour of Zhetysu in 2016. Taldykurgan, the capital city of Almaty region, hosted the first ever Gran Fondo event in Central Asia. 157 participants opened a new page on the history of non-professional cycling with the event, closing the 2016 edition of Gran Fondo World Tour ® Series.

July 25 - Ang Khang KOM Challenge, Thailand
Doi Ang Khang is a mountain in Fang District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand straddles both sides of the Burmese-Thai border. The peak of Doi Ang Khang is 1,928 metres (6,325 ft) above sea level, and the agricultural station covers an area of 1,989 rai (318 ha).
With only 25km and super steep segments, Ang Khang climb would be very difficult if you aim to go fast. Even with easy pace, it will still be difficult for average cyclists, with maximum gradient of 34%. Highlight of the route are turns that you could see coming up and when looking down. Tourism Thailand Cycling Club and Debsirin School Royal Project under Royal Patronage host Ang Khang KOM cycling festival event to promote responsible tourism so that visitors will be aware of the value of the hill tribe community, enjoy local culture, understand the sufficiency economy under the royal initiative, and protect the environment.
With only 25km, 11km climbing zone in Hors Category +10 +20 +30%. Maximum at 34%. Classic. The closer to the top, the steeper it gets. If you bring a small cassette, there are chances you will be on your feet. Many cyclists surrendered to the famous Landslide Segment which has 3 turns. And, don't be surprised if your Garmin reads more than 11km for the climbing zone because you will most likely gain few more kilometres doing zigzag to survive the brutal last 8km with average +13% grade. Segment with +8% will be your resting zone.
