The event is the second round of the most popular gravel series in Western Canada, the Triple Crown of Gravel. The event has also been chosen to join the ranks of the 2023 Gran Fondo World Tour® Series of gravel events worldwide, a total of 5 continents and 16 destinations.

Situated in the stunning Okanagan Valley, the course carves its way through wildflower-blanketed canyons, historic trestles, and shaded decommissioned railway tunnels. You can expect panoramic views of crystal clear lakes as you climb and descend the sweeping switchbacks of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail.

Although the one-day 138+ km Full Fondo Plus distance is the marquee event, they also offer a 50km Medio and 100km Full Fondo distance.

In addition to the One-Day event, there is the Two-Day stage race in the Stunning Okanagan!

You can choose between the Two Day event and the 1 Day Classic Gravel Fondos.

The 2 Day Features a new Day 1 (Sep 15^th) course from Summerland BC.

The main start is beside Lake Okanagan, Penticton and finishes in East Kelowna. On route, there be several aid stations as well as support for riders with flats and mechanical issues and of course first aid.

The majority of the Dirty Fondo takes place on the Kettle Valley Railway Trail (KVR) and features a maximum 2.2% grade “Railway Grade”, and the trail can be cycled for most fitness levels although the faster you go the harder the effort is. The course and trail goes through Myra Canyon Provincial Park which features 17 amazing trestles and there is also several tunnels. As you gain elevation from Penticton to Chute Lake the scenery and vistas of the Okanagan Valley are truly stunning.

Registration includes; a souvenir t-shirt, support on course (mechanicals / flats), several aid stations on course, results with a time and draw prizes, Ice Cold Beer (or non-alcoholic beverage) at the finish, a meal plus overall top 3 prizes in each event.

Spectator food and bus tickets from Penticton to and from East Kelowna are also available

Prize categories include men and women, individual, teams of 2 and teams of 4 participants.
