A world class, fun and family friendly cycling challenge for all ages and abilities!

The Zadar region in Croatia is located on the eastern shores across the Adriatic from Italy. An impressive cycling region in the northern part of Zadar that will surely light up your imagination as you ride some of the most beautiful roads and most spectacular locations.

The 112-kilometer Gran Fondo will allow you to experience the most enchanting surroundings, as the route passes by sea, mountains, pastures, meadows, across the bridge to the island and returns with breath-taking beauty and contains 1,030m of climbing.

The Gran Fondo will be closed to traffic by the Police authority of Zadar region. All participants of the race start and finish the race at the same location, in the city of Zadar – Falkensteiner Resort Borik, while right before the race they have the right to decide whether to run in the shorter 56km Mediofondo with 454m of climbing or the 112km Granfondo with 1,030m of climbing.

The GranFondo Falkensteiner Borik – Zadar Region 2023 event is accompanied with a five-day cycling camp for visitors from October 18th to 22nd in Zadar.

In order to ensure a first-class organized cycling event for all participants, the organizers have limited the number of participants in the Granfondo Falkensteiner Borik – Zadar Region event to 500 people.

The event is part of the 2023 Gran Fondo World Tour ® Series, by participating in events of the series, riders collect points for the Gran Fondo World Tour ® ranking system. The ranking is open to all cyclists, regardless of their level of preparation.

There are awards and prizes across a range of age categories for men and women. For men 15-34, 35-49, 50-59 and 60+. For women 15-37, 38-54 and 55+.

Prizes include 4 nights at the Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik for 2 people for both men and women.

Getting There and Accomodation

Zadar Airport is an international airport serving Zadar, Croatia. It is located in Zemunik Donji, 8 km from the centre of Zadar.

First weekend in October average air temperatures are between 15-20°C. Usually there is no wind if the weather is sunny and dry.
