The 85-mile (137 km) course mimics a Belgian spring classic, favoring all-around riders with its challenging climbs and varied terrain. While waiting for their start on the George Washington Bridge, racers enjoy spectacular views of the NYC skyline and the Hudson River. The race continues through charming towns and scenic nature in Bergen County and Rockland County, with the excitement culminating in a finish and festival at Fort Lee, NJ—a convenient location close to NYC, airports, hotels, and highways.

Alexander Worsdale (OM.CC) attacked on River Road at the start and rode away, eventually catching stragglers in UCI race to finish  in 03:34:29 and never saw the Gran Fondo peloton again.

Worsdale's victory confirms there's a road career in winning Gran Fondos. This marks the third victory in a row at the GFNY Championship for team Officine Mattio (OM.CC), a Italian bike manufacturer.
