Ruby Ryan and Matthew Wilson Fastest at the 2026 Lost & Found Gravel Festival

The 2026 Lost & Found Gravel Festival returned to the high Sierra with its biggest atmosphere yet, drawing over 920 riders to Portola for a weekend of rugged gravel racing, live music, and community celebration. With perfect early-summer conditions and fast rolling terrain, this year’s edition delivered some of the quickest times ever recorded across all distances.

Wilson Breaks the 5-Hour Barrier in Lightning-Fast Men’s 100-Mile Race

The men’s 100-mile race produced one of the standout performances in Lost & Found history.

Matthew Wilson (Scott Sports USA) stormed across the course in 4:59:00, becoming one of the few riders ever to dip under the five-hour mark on the demanding Sierra gravel.

Behind him, the chase group splintered repeatedly over the long climbs and exposed ridgelines.

Payson McElveen (Allied Cycle Works) crossed just 52 seconds back, while gravel icon Peter Stetina (Stories and Glories) secured third at +2:21.

It was a masterclass from Wilson — controlled early, explosive late, and perfectly timed.

Ruby Ryan Wins a Kiwi Showdown in a One-Second Sprint

The women’s 100-mile race delivered the most dramatic finish of the day.

Ruby Ryan (TREK / WTB / Pearl Izumi / First Endurance) and fellow New Zealander Samara Sheppard rode together for nearly the entire race, matching each other on every climb and descent. After 5½ hours of racing, it all came down to a final sprint into Portola.

Ryan edged ahead by one second, taking the win in 5:38:05 and securing the first-ever Kiwi 1–2 at Lost & Found.

Jennifer Tavé (Speedblock p/b Terún) rounded out the podium after a strong solo chase.

Fast Racing Across All Distances

The 59-mile and 40-mile events also saw standout performances, with rising juniors, seasoned masters, and gravel newcomers all battling for category honours.

Bryce Card (Team Bear Devo) dominated the 59-mile men’s race. Julie Young (Julie Young Training) took a commanding win in the 59-mile women’s field.

Noah Prohaska (Reno Devo) and Elisa Cascardi (Studio BAE) topped the 40-mile podiums.

Lost & Found once again showcased why it remains one of the most beloved gravel festivals in North America — a perfect blend of challenge, scenery, and community spirit.

With Lost & Found now one of the highest-value points rounds on the calendar, the results in Portola delivered major movements across the leaderboard.

Women’s GES: Dubau-Prévot Extends Her Lead

Axelle Dubau-Prévot (EF Education–Oatly) continues to set the pace in the women’s series, strengthening her grip on the overall lead with 182 points. Her consistency across the opening rounds has created a meaningful gap over her closest challengers.

Morgan Aguirre (PAS Racing) holds firm in second with 138 points, while Sophie Wright (Ribble Outliers) climbs into third on 128 points after her strong form in recent races.

The top five remains tightly packed, with Dutch riders Geerike Schreurs and Larissa Hartog both inside striking distance as the series heads toward its mid-season phase.

Men’s GES: Würtz Schmidt Tightens His Hold on the Series

On the men’s side, Mads Würtz Schmidt (Specialized Off-Road) continues to dominate the early season narrative. His commanding performances across the opening rounds give him 210 points, the highest total in either category.

Hugo Drechou (Gravel Nation) remains his closest challenger with 166 points, while Petr Vakoc (Factor Racing) sits third on 107 points.

The battle for the top five is heating up, with Bradyn Lange, Matthew Beers, and Celestin Guillon all locked in a tight cluster as the series heads toward Europe’s summer block of races.
