Michigan’s signature cycling event, the KeyBank Gran Fondo, once again delivered a full-scale celebration of endurance, community, and summer racing as more than 1,000 riders rolled into downtown Grand Rapids on June 27, 2026. With three routes — the 80-mile Gran Fondo, 38-mile Medio, and 20-mile Piccolo — plus a family ride, cyclists of all levels took on fast roads, rolling terrain, and warm early-summer conditions.
The event continued its strong partnership with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, raising another $50,000 in 2026 and bringing the three-year total to more than $190,000. The combination of charity impact, community atmosphere, and tight racing reaffirmed the Grand Rapids Gran Fondo as one of Michigan’s premier cycling events.
In the marquee 80-mile Gran Fondo, Seth Decker, Jake Baker, and Eric Parsell delivered the day’s fastest men’s performances, finishing within seconds of each other.
On the women’s side, Jennifer Pero, Verena Dewies, and Jill Martinek claimed the top three spots with equally close times.
The 38-mile Medio saw Carlos Hernandez, Kyle Rogala, and Richard Haslinger take the men’s podium, while Monica Mulder, Kelly Hayes, and Dawn Hinz led the women’s field.
In the 20-mile Piccolo Fondo, Paul Arends, Eric Durbin, and Jesus Ginez topped the men’s results, with Damika Lesman, Lee Ann Mcgarry, and Barbara Johnson securing the top three women’s positions.
Across all distances, tight finishes and standout performances defined the 2026 edition.
