Organised by ASD Fausto Coppi on the Road, the event continues its long-established tradition of twinning with a different nation each year to celebrate international cycling culture.

The 2026 edition is scheduled to take place on June 28, 2026. The event is a popular cycling event on the international granfondo calendar and is dedicated to the memory of the legendary Italian champion Fausto Coppi. It typically attracts more than 2,800 cyclists from over 40 countries to Cuneo, with the race start located in the central Piazza Galimberti.

As the guest country, Denmark will have a prominent presence throughout the event. This includes a dedicated area within the start village to showcase cultural, sporting, and promotional initiatives. Peter Taksøe-Jensen, Ambassador of Denmark to Italy, is expected to attend the event to participate in official engagements and public-facing moments.

The selection of Denmark follows a tradition that began in 2019 with the Netherlands as the inaugural guest country. Argentina held the role during the 2025 season. According to the event organising team, Denmark was chosen due to its deep-rooted cycling culture and its role on the international cycling stage, with infrastructure that actively promotes everyday cycling as a tool for health and sustainable mobility.

Davide Lauro President of ASD Fausto Coppi on the Road said “We are honoured to welcome Denmark as the Guest Country of the 2026 edition of the Granfondo La Fausto Coppi Generali. This recognition celebrates a nation with an extraordinary cycling culture. We are excited to work together to create an experience that brings sporting passion and international relationships to the forefront.”

Peter Taksøe-Jensen Ambassador of Denmark to Italy said “It is a great honour for Denmark to be the Guest Country of the Granfondo Internazionale La Fausto Coppi Generali, an event that reflects values that are central to our country: the promotion of sustainable mobility, health, a passion for cycling and a strong sense of community.

“In Denmark, cycling is an integral part of everyday life and represents a key tool for improving quality of life while reducing environmental impact. This collaboration strengthens the bond between Denmark and Italy, united by a shared vision of sport that enhances people, territories and a more sustainable future.”

The organisers, ASD Fausto Coppi on the Road, aim to use the partnership to further the international development of the event while highlighting cycling as a symbol of sustainable growth.

La Fausto Coppi Generali

The 36th edition of La Fausto Coppi granfondo will be called La Fausto Coppi Generali – with Italian insurance company Generali Group on board as a title sponsor of the event.

The long-standing and popular granfondo in Cuneo, northwest Italy, has in recent years been organised by ASD Fausto Coppi, since 2003, with this year’s event scheduled for June 29, 2025.

More than 2,500 cyclists from more than 30 nations are expected in Cuneo, starting from the city’s central Piazza Galimberti.

The involvement of Generali Group expands on prior year activations at the granfondo in Cuneo, now expanding to a title sponsorship. Generali is also a sponsor partner of the Genève Marathon in Switzerland and Berlin Half Marathon in Germany.

“It is a source of great pride and satisfaction for us to have Generali as our title sponsor through its Cuneo Corso Gramsci agency,” said Davide Lauro and Emma Mana, President and Vice-President of ASD Fausto Coppi. #

“We are united by similar values and principles: Generali has always been close to the world of wellness and sport, and through its various activities, it promotes an active lifestyle, encouraging teamwork and social integration among young people, giving visibility to the area through the involvement of local communities.

“In 2025, a health & wellness campus will be set up in the La Fausto Coppi Generali village, with various health specialisations available for a wide range of prevention activities. A truly concrete way of supporting the participants in the event and being present in the area to serve the community.”

Gabriele Tedesco, Head of Sales at Generali Italia, said “Generali’s ambition is to be a lifetime partner at all relevant times, an ambition to which we remain true thanks to the commitment, professionalism and excellence of our sales network, present throughout Italy.

“The partnership with the historic granfondo La Fausto Coppi, thanks to the Cuneo Corso Gramsci Agency, is an example of our commitment to promoting people’s health and well-being.”
