Battling rolling hills, minimally maintained tracks, and muddy sections, both champions claimed the prestigious $17,500 prize for their impressive performances.

The event, held in Lincoln, Nebraska, has long been a top target for privateer racers, thanks to its demanding course and the lucrative $100,000 prize purse. This year’s race lived up to its reputation, pushing riders to their limits through a grueling mix of gravel hills and challenging weather conditions.

In the women’s race, Rosa Klöser broke away from a leading pack of six during the third Minimum Maintained Road (MMR) section, distancing herself alongside competitor Schreurs. Despite an aggressive attempt by Danni Shrosbree to close the gap, Klöser held strong and ultimately out-sprinted Schreurs at the finish line. Karolina Migon, the 2025 Unbound champion, launched a late attack from the chase group with 20 miles remaining, securing a solid third place but falling well short of the leaders by over 12 minutes.

The men’s race was equally riveting. Early mud sections caused splits in the field, temporarily dropping Matt Beers from the lead group. Demonstrating extraordinary grit, Beers fought back to rejoin the front pack. Over the next 100 miles, the lead group of ten gradually thinned to just Beers and Keegan Swenson. The pair rode in tandem until the final 3 kilometers, when Beers launched a decisive attack. After a fierce sprint to the finish, Beers edged out Swenson to claim victory and the top men’s prize. Cam Jones, another Unbound champion, completed the podium with a strong third-place finish.

“Winning the Lauf Gravel Worlds is a dream come true,” said Matt Beers. “The course was brutal, but the competition pushed me to give everything I had. It’s an honor to take home this prize and represent the spirit of gravel racing.”

The Lauf Gravel Worlds continue to solidify their place as one of the most challenging and rewarding events in the gravel racing calendar, attracting top talent and fierce competition year after year.
