Phil Gaimon takes Mount Baldy KOM
Gaimon nabs Mount Baldy KOM from Team Sky's Ian Bibby
Phil Gaimon is slowly and surely grabbing Strava KOM records all over California.
A few days ago Phil took the KOM on Mount Baldy, previously held by Team Sky's Ian Bibby. Bibby's record was set in the 2015 AMGEN tour of California. Bibby's time up the 4.3 mile climb which is an average of 9.3% was 22m 42 secs.
Gaimon beat this by 17 secs. Interestingly the top 10 on Mount Baldy contains a plethora of Pro riders. Joe Dombrowki rounds out the podium, with a time of 22m 51s set in the 2012 AMGEN Tour of California. Robert Gesink is 4th, setting his time in the same 2015 editions of the Tour of California aswell as Rob Britton in 6th place.
Interestingly in 5th place is Levi Leipheimer's time set in the 2012 AMGEN Tour of California too, behind Joe Dombroski.
Another notably addition is well known rider Neil Shirley from Road Bike Action, who holds the 13th fastest time up Mount Baldy. An impressive result, seeing the company he's keeping!
Wonder what Phil's got planned next?
