Amateur Cyclist Pushes 400+ Watts to keep up Evenepoel climbing in Calpe
Few cyclists could keep up with Remco Evenepoel when he lights his afterburners and at times last season he was out front alone in the hardest races. But that didn’t stop this amateur trying to sit on the wheel of the world champion on a 12-minute long climb during a training camp in Calpe, Spain
Artem Shcherbyna managed to hang on to Evenepoel for a long time. The young Belgian checked over his shoulder and upped his pace to drop Shcherbyna.
Increasingly frustrated Evenepoel upped his pace futher, with Shcherbyna hitting 500+ Watts.
Evenepoel eventually gestured to Shcherbyna to back off.
