GFNY Philippines to host Asian Championship

The second edition of GFNY Philippines is set to be a hotly contested race among Asia’s elite and international riders to see who will be crowned GFNY Asian Champion

NEW YORK CITY, September 18, 2019 – GFNY Philippines Asian Championship promises a spectacular Asian Championship to experience this Sunday.

GFNY, the largest Cycling Marathon Brand, features a total of 18 GFNY World races in the 2019-2020 calendar season. They include the GFNY World Championship in NYC and five regional championships in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and the Middle East – Africa.

GFNY Philippines will for the first time, host the Asian Championship on the paradise island of Panay and a brand-new venue in Iloilo. With support of Megaworld, Opus Land Inc, LA Course Velo and others, the event offers a competitive long-distance course of 133km and 650metres of climbing. There is also a non-competitive middle-distance course covering 63km and 200 meters of climbing.

At GFNY Philippines, riders can expect:

  Closed roads or police moderated traffic with right of way at all intersections
  The chance to do their best on a challenging course without having to worry about anything but riding
  Chip timing, results and rankings based on the full start-to-finish course
  The chance to qualify for the elite starting corral at all GFNY World races
  Competition prizes across all age groups for podium winners
  Uniform set of rules
  Great participant and family experience
  An event organized by fellow cyclists with a passion for cycling and GFNY

The overall male and female winners in the competitive distance will be awarded flight, hotel and entry in the racers corral to the GFNY NYC World Championship next May 17, 2020.

The top 20% of finishers in each age group in the long route qualify for the Racer Corral at all GFNYs of the following 380 days.
