Did Brailsford try to Bury Jiffy-Leaks Story?
The Daily Mail says that Brailsford offered the newspaper an incentive in a desperate bid to stop the publication of a story about a mystery package delivered to Bradley Wiggins.
"If you didn’t write the story, is there anything else that could be done?" Brailsford asked Mail reporter Matt Lawton.
Lawton wrote “First came the offer of an alternative, more positive story. Then possibly a story about a rival team winning races with therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs), something he did not reveal in the end.”
At the end of the two-and-a-half-hour meeting, Brailsford asked if there was "anything else that could be done?"
Dave Brailsford revealed the mystery package at the centre of a UK Anti-Doping investigation contained the decongestant Fluimucil, at a Culture, Media and Sport select committee hearing, Brailsford confirmed the nature of a delivery made by British Cycling coach Simon Cope to Team Sky at the 2011 Dauphine Libere.
