GFNY Indonesia

October 01 2017
Lombok, Indonesia

GFNY Indonesia will offer two distance options: a long route of 112-mi / 181km with 6,739ft / 2,054m of climbing and a medium route of 50-mi / 80km with 3,074ft / 937m of climbing.

The island of Lombok is nowhere near as busy as the neighbouring island of Bali. The host town, Senggigi, is a resort area and great base for exploring Lombok. The pace is laid back, with activities centred on the beaches and day trips to places of interest, which are all within a few hour's drive from the town.

In the late afternoon, a red sun sinks into the Bali Sea next to the giant triangular cone of Bali's Mount Agung. Lombok International Airport (LOP) is the only airport on Lombok situated 50km from Senggigi.

While just a few are in the hunt for the overall win, there will be many aiming to finish among the top 10% of finishers in their category to qualify for a racer corral spot at the GFNY Championship in NYC on 21 May 2017.

"I have extensive experience with organizing long distance cycling events in Indonesia," adds GFNY Indonesia founder, Axel Moeller.

"With GFNY we're now bringing competitive cycling to Lombok. The host town of Senggigi offers a series of sweeping bays, with light-sand beaches sitting below a backdrop of jungle-clad mountains and coconut palms. Riders can expect a typical GFNY event."
