2017 Tirreno-Adriatico

Tirreno-Adriatico

March 10 - March 16 2021
Lido di Camaiore, Italy

The 2017 Tirreno-Adriatico starts on Wednesday the 8th of March, 2017 at the Tyrrhenian coast. After seven stages the race is set to finish at the Adriatic on Tuesday 14 March. The ‘Race of the Two Seas’ dates back to 1966, so 2017 brings edition 52. The last few years the race left from Lido di Camaiore and finished with a an individual time trial in San Benedetto del Tronto.

Due to bad weather the Queen Stage was cancelled in 2016. This way non-climber Greg Van Avermaet could win the overall, one second ahead of Peter Sagan. Bob Jungels finished in third.

RCS Sport released the route of the 2017 Tirreno-Adriatico, the Race Between the Two Seas, in Camaiore, Tuscany. The 52nd edition is once again bookended with time trials, a team effort and an individual chrono, with three climbers’ stages and two days for the sprinters. The Terminillo climb returns for 2017.
