Femke Van der Veken and Tim Diederich take victory at 2026 Schleck Granfondo

Mondorf-les-Bains welcomed nearly 3,600 cyclists this weekend as the Schleck Granfondo once again confirmed its status as one of Europe’s most popular mass-participation cycling events. The 2026 edition has sold out months in advance, continuing a long-standing trend that highlights the enduring appeal of this Luxembourg classic.

Femke Van der Veken and Tim Diederich take victory at 2026 Schleck Granfondo

Hosted in the south of the country, the event offers participants a unique opportunity to ride the training roads of Luxembourg’s most famous cycling brothers, Andy and Fränk Schleck.

The 164km Granfondo was the official World Championships qualifier distance with 2,250 metres of elevation gain.

Former Luxembourg professional Tim Diederich delivered a decisive and brilliantly-controlled ride to win the 2026 Schleck Gran Fondo. From the early climbs, he positioned himself in the front group as the race fragmented under pressure. Diederich rode with composure, responding to accelerations without wasting energy and keeping himself perfectly placed for the final hour.

The winning move came on the last major rise toward Mondorf-les-Bains. Diederich launched a sharp, committed acceleration that immediately opened daylight behind him. Once clear, he settled into a powerful solo rhythm that no one in the chase group could match. His gap held all the way to the line, securing a commanding victory in 04:04:06 — a performance built on strength, timing, and tactical clarity. Nicolas Baïolet (Cycling Force Chimay) rode a superb race to take second place with a +2:24 deficit. Guillaume Seye (Riding for Church Of Speed) rounded out the podium with a gritty and well-measured performance, holding off the tightly-packed riders behind him to secure third place in 04:07:02, just +2:56 off the win.

Femke Van der Veken delivered a commanding and confident ride to win the 2026 Schleck Gran Fondo women’s title. From the early kilometres, she settled into the front group of elite women, riding with composure and efficiency as the race broke apart on the rolling Luxembourg terrain. Van der Veken showed her strength on the longer drags, gradually applying pressure that thinned the lead group down to only a handful of riders.

Her decisive moment came in the final sector, where she surged clear with a perfectly-timed acceleration. Once she had daylight, she committed fully, holding a strong solo pace all the way to Mondorf-les-Bains. She crossed the line in 04:20:44, securing a well-earned victory built on consistency, smart positioning, and a powerful finishing effort. Marie Schreiber produced a superb ride to take second place, finishing just 19 seconds behind the winner. Marie Le Net held her position perfectly, crossing the line alongside Schreiber and securing third place on the same time

The Mediofondo covered 82 km with 1,100 metres of elevation and mirrors the early section of the Granfondo before taking a shortcut midway. This distance serves as the qualification route for all women and men aged 65 and over.

A razor-sharp ride from Fabian D’Evola, who hit the line in a three-way dead-heat sprint but took the win on chip time in 02:12:37. Anne-Sophie Hennaux delivered a dominant performance, riding clear of the women’s field and holding her advantage all the way to Mondorf-les-Bainsin a time of 02:29:51. She set the pace early, stayed composed through the mid-race selections, and finished with a confident solo win.
