VIDEO: Phil Gaimon Seriously Hurt At First Track Race
Broken scapula, collarbone, ribs, and partially collapsed lung
Just days after Chris Froome broke his leg, pelvis and ribs, Phil Gaimon has also found himself in intensive care.
Full details are yet to emerge but Phil tweeted "So the first track race didn’t go very well. Broken scapula, collarbone, ribs, and partially collapsed lung."
Phil jokingly said "What if I told you that I don’t have health insurance? Would you donate do help me out? How much?"
Phil continued "Okay well I do have health insurance and I’m fundamentally alright, so I ask you to take that money and give it to Chefs Cycle and No Kid Hungry who need it more than I do. I’m in a lot of pain and this is all I can think to cheer me up."
On behalf of everyone we wish Phil a speedy recovery!
Phil is hoping to raise $100,000 for Chefs Cycle and No Kid Hungry this year including his Cookie Fondo (Oct 26-27, Malibu, CA) and the Hillclimb World Championships (Sep 21, Santa Barbara, CA) which includes a Brand NEW 52 mile Fondo.
Registration for both events has just opened and will SELL OUT in Advance, so register now to avoid disappointment.
So far the public have helped Phil raise over $41,000.
Someone just gave $10,000 to my @ChefsCycle @nokidhungry page. 8 broken bones hurts a lot and I don’t plan to do it again but this crash has been a net positive on society. Thank you guys. https://t.co/sHHAfBPe61 pic.twitter.com/lkgBkZ0YKe— Phil Gaimon (@philgaimon) June 15, 2019
